If you are being celebrated for Mothers Day, what’s your menu?

What yummy foods did you ask for?

I’m making overnight cinnamon rolls because I really love them and they make the morning easy.
Shrimp and asparagus risotto.

I just let DH handle things. I don’t ask for specific foods. But my guess is dim sum out tomorrow morning and then he’ll make dinner.

Going out for Ethiopian.

I am making the ultimate strawberry cake.
A strawberry puree reduction will flavor the batter, and powdered freeze-dried strawberries will flavor the whipped cream. This is how you add in real strawberry flavor. Everything will be pink, and without the aid of added coloring!

For every birthday, Christmas and other occasions, I only trust myself to do my favorite foods. For my winter birthday, I make lime squares with extra lime. For Christmas, I do a beef Wellington. These things are sacred and have to be done just right!

Don't care about the rest of the day

I think I’ll make myself banana bread in the morning. DH and one of the kids have COVID, so it’s on me. Fortunately, I love to bake. That, or we’ll order bagels. Dinner, I’m thinking Thai, but am keeping my options open.

Everything else listed sounds delish!

My DH and son will bring my waffles and strawberries in bed. For dinnner, I placed an order for Gardenia Cafe’s Mother’s Day menu for pickup. Love their food!

I asked for DH's avocado toast on whole grain, my favorite bacon, coffee and mimosas. It's just us and our teen son. I lounge and nap after my mimosa.

DH and DD are making me breakfast. I asked for French toast.

I am contemplating what I’d like to have for dinner tomorrow night. Lots of good ideas on this thread!

My DH is out of the country so I’m doing whatever I want. Tbh, I did that today too. I’m calling it Mother’s Week instead of day this year. I think my kids (12 and 9) are planning to make me breakfast.

My kids are too young to understand it do anything for Mother’s Day, but I have sourdough rising overnight so there’ll be fresh bread and I’m thinking shrimp and broccoli stir fry for dinner and black bean quesadillas for lunch. I think my real treat is that we had danishes and fresh strawberries from the farmer’s market for breakfast this morning.

Ha! I have three kids under seven. DH and I were just talking about this. I am about to drive to the store to buy pastries they can arrange on a plate so they can “make me breakfast in bed.”

Honestly I would be thrilled to walk to coffee, order Thai, and make the muffins I promised to bring into school on Monday in the evening.

We had a HUGE week at work last week and I am still exhausted (I was able to laze around all day today) so that sounds perfect. Thanks to that huge week, I have cake leftovers, so it's been a nice weekend.
