Mother's Day weekend seems like an appropriate time to congratulate moms and dads who have gotten their children to an important milestone this year!!

Many of you have high school seniors. I have a college senior. For all of the angst and criticism people post on this forum, I want to acknowledge all that our kids have achieved. As parents well know, raising a kid to adulthood takes hours/days/weeks/months and years of love and investment, time and attention, encouragement and expressed pride on the part of the adults in their lives.

I want to honor the sacrifices that parents make for their children. If your child has finished a major milestone this year, kudos to them...but also congratulations to you for a job well done.

It certainly was an unusual path through high school and on to college for many kids, and the flexibility, ingenuity, and resilience will serve them well. Kudos to the parents who helped guide them though it all.
