A friend of mine got an email today or yesterday offering her kid a spot at a regional CES.

I received an email inviting my son to Oak View. Three days to decide. I don't know if any Oak View CES parents would be reading this thread but I'd love their thoughts.

Former Oak View CES parent here. Our kid had a great experience there a few years ago. The principal is terrific. I think the CES teachers have changed since then, but it's a really good program.

I attended the orientation for Oak View. FWIW, the 4th grade teachers are both young 20-somethings in their 1st and 2nd years of teaching.

21:48 here - thanks to everyone for sharing. Glad to hear the principal is well-regarded. I saw the CES presentation on the Oak View website and the youth of the 4th grade teachers gives me some pause. I think there are many excellent young teachers out there, but there's only so much experience they can bring to a program like this.

I had also heard the principal was well-regarded, but FWIW, I found him inexplicably rude to one of the parents with limited English skills at the virtual orientation.

Not Oak View but at a different CES and one of the young teachers is one of the favorites. The other young teacher is probably the worst though. It's really hard to generalize.
