COSA question

Anonymous
My daughter was approved for COSA because of my son's special needs program. She has been attending for a year, and my question is, what if he no longer attends the school, can she remains there? I read the COSA policy, and it says:

Once my child has been approved for a COSA, do I need to reapply each year?
The student may remain at the school on a COSA until the student is ready to matriculate to the next education level, unless a COSA was approved for one year only.

When we received our approval, it didn't say that it was for one year only and I am hoping that since it didn't say that, it means that she is approved to stay in that school until she goes to middle school.

Yes, she is approved for that school until middle school, when she will return to your home middle school feeder pattern.

Good through 5th grade, and extends for younger siblings too (though you still have to go through the application process for them).

"One year only" COSAs are for people who move to another assignment area, but want to stay in the current school for the rest of the school year.
