| Good riddance. |
| As a Fairfax City Resident I'm not happy with this pick. The last thing we need is an FCPS yes man. |
|
Good riddance for FCPS but I feel bad for Fairfax City
|
| I have no idea what the City of Fairfax School Board is thinking. This quite upsetting. I hope we have some new blood running for Fairfax City school board this fall. |
|
So glad he is leaving FCPS. He has done a lot of damage by wasting money, failing to plan effectively, and sucking up to School Board members at the very moments when courage was most needed.
Now let’s get rid of this incompetent and hypocritical School Board next year. |
| This is the same job he has been doing for FCPS but only for four schools - it may be a promotion in title, but it's a demotion in responsibility. |
Agree. He can be a glorified building supervisor and take care of the four school buildings owned by Fairfax City. He’ll probably do less harm that way. |
| It's a great retirement job. |
| Thank god. |
|
I remember hearing Platenberg say earlier this year that FCPS needn't develop a new renovation queue before 2025 and thinking he'd leave FCPS before Facilities needed to do any real work. Only silver lining was Brabrand read the room for once and knew that was a non-starter.
|
| What a strange pick. Hired a facilities man to be the instructional leader of the school division.. |
Fairfax City contracts with FCPS for instructional services. They basically hired a maintenance man with poor planning skills to take care of four buildings and gave him the title “superintendent.” |
|
Absolutely insane.
I still cannot understand how he never got fired for being on the take from Cenergistic. |
| Do we know if there were other good candidates or rumors about who might have applied? It seemed to have been a quick process. |
