How about some more info?
- how long will you be in barcelona for? - First time? - what kinds of things do you like to do? |
| The path in Barcelona has been completely and utterly beaten. |
| Barcelona is a great city to visit but it's a small city and you really only need 2-4 days for it at the most. Hit the major sites (imo there are Parque guell, LSG, Montjuic) but other than that, stroll Borne, gothic quarter and el raval. |
| We went in September and really just strolled and had a great time. There for 7 days and only had 2 with plans, some of the sites pp mentioned. We found our way on a sunset sail one evening and a pallea making class that my husband still talks about. I credit those to Airbnb Experiences. It's the second tab on their main page. |

3 nights max.
Then head up the coast to cadaques or girona or Aiguablava or Begur. Search here for those names for ideas…. |
| As others have mentioned, Barcelona's path is pretty well beaten. I would recommend visiting Casa Batllo. It's less crowded than the Sagrada Familia (and way easier to get tickets to last minute) but still a very cool way to admire Gaudi's work. |
This exactly. |
This is a good idea. Take a couple days in barcelona, rent a car and go up la costa brava. |
| We just spent a week in Barcelona and would have happily spent longer, though we were not exhausting ourselves hitting everything. We didn’t get to all the beaten path things I would have liked to do. If you happen to be going with kids, the zoo doesn’t get talked up much and is quite lovely. |

This is OP and we will be there for 3 days as part of a bigger trip. My Dh, ds (17) and me. We have actually been there before for a couple of days and did the major touristy stuff which is why I was looking for off the beaten path experiences
Thank you! |
+1 Unfortunately. |

We took a similar tour, and it was very interesting

Almost every neighborhood has a mercat, or indoor food market. The most famous is La Boquería, but I would go to one of the less famous mercats for lunch. There are restaurants in the mercats (often just a few barstools at a counter) that open up for lunch around 1:30 p.m. and the food is amazing and fresh. If during the week, get a menú del día (2 course meal with drink and dessert) or if you want something lighter, a plato combinado (typically something like fries, vegetable, and a meat).
Here's a list with a link to all the mercats: https://ajuntament.barcelona.cat/mercats/es/canal/mercats-alimentaris |
| Wish your kids were younger- I could have written you a novel! |
