I'd love recommendations for a small house or cottage near the beach/in town amenities. Our requirements: 2 B 2 B with one king bed and parking. Budget for a week: $4000. (Please advise if that's not adequate.)

Yes, and some rental agencies. I'd like recommendations people have had personal experience with.
