Fairly consistent, apart from Niche omitting Marshall and including Lake Braddock and US News including Marshall and omitting Lake Braddock.

There is a separate thread on the AAP forum about the US News ratings, but it's turned into another thread that's 99% about TJHSST.

If you look at the whole DMV, DC did very well. Looks like they are giving the top suburban schools a run for their (lack of) money.

Top 10 public high schools in the DMV:

9. Poolesville
10. Basis DC

Except TJ is #1, Banneker and Walls are magnets that between them have less than 1/2 the enrollment of TJ, and Wilson is nowhere to be found on your list.

Actually it shouldn’t be. Someone didn’t post the full list for VA, just FCPS. They didn’t post a list because TJ is THE SECOND BEST school in VA. Congrats to Maggie Walker, which ranked first.

After years of ignoring these rankings as “anti-equity,” FCPS put out a press release today about the 2022 US News rankings. Perhaps they are worried about the elections next fall?

Niche used to just use surveys and it was sketchy because not that many kids or families even received those surveys. They are incorporating more objective data now. Their 2022 rankings more closely align with the general understanding of the best schools in FCPS than US News (for example, Chantilly and Woodson are generally perceived to be stronger schools than Marshall).
