Miami beach hotels?

| Does anyone have any suggestions for a Miami beach hotel? We are planning to go for our first trip away from DD, so something romanticish but not outlandishly expensive would be great! |

| I once stayed at the Hotel Chelsea in South Beach... loved the location, close to the strip & the beach & Lincoln Rd, and the interior was so gorgeous and chic. They didn't have a pool and the hotel is pretty small, but when you're in Miami you should be out and about most of the time anyway. I found a great rate using Expedia at the time, and my mentality was that I was looking for a 3 star hotel with a 2 star price. I'd do the same today, just browsing the prices and looking up reviews and photos. |

| check out a hotel called "the hotel" and sometimes mondrian has good rates. other good places are raleigh, national, tides, whitlaw. More expensive would be Delano, Shore Club, W, Gaansevort (which is my fave for a fun weekend without kids,very cool vibe). |
