Recommend a special occasion restaurant to celebrate 40th birthdays

Anonymous
4 female college friends and I are all turning 40 this summer. We planned a local staycation to celebrate and are looking for a fun spot in DC to get a little dressed up, have a few cocktails, and celebrate ourselves on Saturday night. Budget is a consideration; hoping to spend no more than $200-$250 per person. Also open to suggestions for cocktails before or after dinner.

Thank you!

I'd look at The Wharf.

Also, Navy Yard has quite a few nicer places (like Chole).

Maydan also gets great reviews.

Del Mar at the Wharf.

Or La Vie at the Wharf. Maybe not as spendy as you indicated, but fun vibe for a ladies' dinner. If you are more serious about the cuisine, I'd go to Masseria.

If you go to the Wharf, Officina has a great rooftop bar to start or end at.

Thanks, PPs! I will check these out (OP)

For a summer celebration, would def stick to some of the options mentioned at the Wharf or Navy Yard/Yards Park so that you can dine with a view. Those areas are just fun to walk around before/after too (perhaps also look at the District Winery at Navy Yard for wine tasting activity beforehand).

+1 Chloe, Albi, Osteria Morini (water view), Salt Line (water view), would all be great options in that area. They're all nice restaurants, though not sure if they're of the level of fancy you're looking for. Of note, on Friday nights there are live concerts down at Yards Park and that whole area gets PACKED
