Not so great city with great schools?

We found this house in a cheaper city but due to the zip code it is zoned for great schools. I am wondering how much the city name matters as long as the schools are good.

City name matters? To whom?

What city is this?

Huh? What’s not great about the city?

If it’s “great schools,” it’s probably not directly in the city.

So you’re concerned that your snobby friends will judge you because you live in Silver Spring and not Chevy Chase?

People with kids care about the schools, not the town name.

I'd worry about redistricting there.

Frankly, the formula needs to change. It should be solely focused on academics and not the equity score. Comparing one race to the other's race isn't productive if it's dinging the schools. Schools that are majority white aren't being dinged by the equity score.
