Which middle school/high school has the fewest kids on personal devices?

I know there are some schools on the west coast (ironically well attended by kids of tech execs) that are lo-tech/no-tech by design and also have covenants to keep kids off personal devices. While I'm certain there's probably not a similar school in DC, I did wonder which of the schools works hard to limit use of devices either by community covenant or by intentionally reducing tech use in school. I'm fine with robotics classes etc. I'm talking more about the social media aspect of devices. Does such a place exist?

Waldorf schools are probably the best bet.

I don't even think Waldorf has wifi in the building at this point.

None that I know of at that age.

Burgundy Farm middle is good. They are only allowed to contact a parent say afterschool eg confirm a pick up and technically they are supposed to ask a teacher for that.

What about use of screens/chromebooks in school?

Generally speaking, The Heights (all boys, independent Catholic) takes a very low-tech/no-tech approach--both the school itself and many of the families.

This was a welcome change from what I saw at many other schools, both public and private, where it seemed everyone jumped at any chance to get the kids in front of a screen (e.g., a 300 page PDF file instead of a history book; no algebra textbook and "all online" math homework). And that's not even getting into the lax approach to screen time that many families seem to take these days.

It's a difficult issue but finding a school where you are on the same page as the school itself and the families who send their kids there goes a long way to help.
