| Looking for a therapist recommendation. I’d like someone culturally sensitive (Asian), and who uses the CBT modalities. I need help tackling intercultural dating, anxiety and stress from life changes (career, personal), and a deep feeling of loneliness. I have had a very nomadic life and never got a chance to build long term relationships or friendships, and feel very rootless. Preferably online therapy. Please help! |
| Do you need insurance to cover? |
I have United Health to cover it. |
Already checked. But there are very few that are both culturally sensitive and offer CBT. And the ones that meet both the criteria have waitlists
|
| Dr Laura Primakoff. Does CBT and fabulous. Will give receipts for your insurance or FSA, but does not accept insurance. |
| You are likely to encounter waitlists no matter who you contact at this point, unfortunately. I would make a short list of 4-6 and get on all their waitlists. Also, consider expanding your search criteria on Psychology Today to a wider geographic area within MD--most therapists are still online and therefore the commute to their office is not an issue, something you can take advantage of to cast a wider net. |
| It’s hard to find a good therapist in this area who takes insurance. |
Thank you. |
