Cost of IVF Cycle for NOVA Residents

Anonymous
If you don't feel comfortable with answer please don't, but I'm seeking out comments from those that have gone through the IVF process. I believe IVF is covered in Maryland, which is why I am asking about Northern VA couples. Currently we are with Shady Grove and our insurance covers $0.00. Just trying to get your thoughts and comments.

Thank you.

I'd go with the shared risk program -- it's $20,000 for up to 6 cyles ($27,500 with meds included) and if it doesn't work you can get yoru money back. Not everyone qualifies though (ask your nurse about finding out if you qualify or there is info about it on their website). If you don't qualify, the prices are the prices posted on the site (about $9,000 or $10,000/cycle). Good luck and sorry it is so expensive!!!!!

I'm with Columbia Fertility and I have federal BCBS, which covers most of the drug cost, as well as the ultrasounds and bloodwork. Mainly covers most everything except the actual procedures, fertilization and storage.

We are looking at an out of pocket cost around $9,000 for the first cycle.

I would shop around. Shady Grove and Dominion have some sort of shared- risk soemthing or other and Columbia is doing a special until Christmas - first two cycles don't work, third one is free 9or somethign like that).
