cool restaurant downtown-ish next week - recommendations?

I’m entertaining some out of town colleagues next week and I waited too long to get in somewhere cool like the Dabney. Please recommend restaurants downtown-ish (west end to Penn Quarter OK, but not Petworth or Adams Morgan). I’m trying to get away from stuffy DC italian (Toscanini, Modena) or steak houses in favor of something a little more ‘hip,’ but it is a work dinner so I dont want shared tables or anything. Thanks!
