I'm not fat, my skin is just stretched out

Anonymous
I went from a BMI of 30 to a BMI of 24. So I lost a decent amount of weight but I can't get my hips and stomach to feel normal again. My hips are 40 inches and my waist is 27. Then I realized it's because my hips are full of stretch marks from when I was a teenager and my stomach is now stretched from having a baby (I only gained 25 pounds with him). To look like a 23 BMI I have to be a 22 BMI. It's really frustrating and I hate my big hips. I don't have enough extra skin for surgery. Just upset.

This is so common OP. It helps me to see other women in the same state. There was a post on FB that had women do planks and show their lose skin. It happens to most women after child birth. It's time to accept your strong healthy body, and respect the work it did to bring your baby to full term.

OP, I'm 5'6, 117lbs with loose skin on my stomach and verry saggy pancake boobs and butt. Two kids and middle age do this and I am not sure much can be done except surgery, which I'm personally not at all interested in.

Congrats on your weight loss!

I think most women of any weight can relate. I’m 5’5” 125. Ive never in my life been over 135 lbs, except the 35 lbs I gained (then lost) with each of three pregnancies. Even that was enough of swing to give me a little loose skin. I look perfectly normal with a flat very flat stomach standIng straight up, but if I bend over, in my lower belly were o have some stretch marks, the skin kind of wrinkles funny. Oh, and the very small flat chest.

I’m 125 lb and have loose skin in my stomach from having a baby. I’m not sure there is much to be done about it, Dave surgery.

This is what shapewear is designed for. I wear it every day to keep my stomach flat and hips smooth. I only weigh 125 but again, loose belly skin.

What shape wear can you recommend? Is it comfortable all day?

I like Shapermint- the one with the ridiculous commercials. It’s supportive enough, but allows me to breathe normally. Other brands like Spanx literally hurt me and make me feel sick after an hour.

You don't have big hips, you have a tiny waist! So great!

Seriously, I honestly don't know what you mean about your skin being stretched out on your hips. I have a BMI of 22, and have never been bigger then this, other than pregnancy. I don't have any stretch marks or loose skin. But my 2nd pregnancy permanently widened my hips and waist. I now have 39" hips and a 29" waist. ~shrug~ It is what it is. I still look pretty damn good and I'm sure you do, too.

I have a 25 inch waist and 34 inch hips and I can still pinch more than an inch. It’s all loose skin, not fat. I wear high waist jeans or Spanx to hold everything in.
