can i tile over old bathroom tile?

or do i need to remove all of the tile first. i think it's the original 1930s tile.

Yes, in some situations you can but its a really bad idea. Best to remove tile.

Looks bad, can more easily crack. Try tiling over it and let us know how it works.

Why do you want to tile over original tile? I love original 1930s tiles

Our house has this done and it seemed fine but the tile was larger, might be hard with smaller tile. We removed it all and under the tile found the original 1920s tile and under that, about 5 inches of gravel - a pain to demo and dispose of.

OP: I do too but it's cracked and not in great shape. Would replace it with similar tiles.
