MCAP

4th grader is taking MCAP this week. He said that everyone near him only has 8 questions but he has 15 per section. Does anyone know how this works? I’m just hoping he’s taking the right test for his grade and why he has more questions.

First, your student shouldn't be able to see what the other students are doing. Second, it is more likely that he or the other kids (or both) are confused as to what is going on.

I'm familiar with MCAP at MS level - not sure how it differs at ES, but it is administered electronically in multiple sections over shorter time periods. It is possible that the section order is just being randomized among the students, so that they are not all working on the same section at the same time.
