thong/very cheeky bathing suit

Anonymous
Just got a cute very cheeky/almost thong bathing suit and am working up the courage to wear it to the beach on my vacation next week. Going to Miami & Keys, so hopefully will fit in with it there and won't get too much side eye

Don’t forget to sunscreen your cheeks.

I wear thongs all of the time. If someone has never seen an ass, sorry that mine is the fist one they will see.

I lived on miami beach for years. Locals don't spend much time on the beach, it's all tourists. And of those tourists, they demographics have gone really low end in the last 10 years. Lots of really unflattering, ill fit, cheap bathing suits, and everyone walking around the streets from bar to bar just in their suits. Didn't used to be that way 15 years ago. In short, the bar is very low and no one will side eye you.

Cheeky/almost thong is popular. Even those that shouldn’t be wearing one, do… 🤦‍♂️

Good time to try it out is on vacation.

It's Miami no one will bat an eye on the beach. Where are you staying?

Bring a lot of sunscreen you don't want a burn!

I truly don't get this trend. I'll all for you and everyone else wearing whatever they feel good in though. Enjoy

I don't either. I find it objectively unattractive on most bodies - in the same way the horizontal stripes trick the eye, so does cheeky briefs. DH and i live on a quiet beach and walk all the folks walk by in their myriad suits, and we were discussing the trend. There were late teens and 20-something women with run of the mill bodies wearing them, and DH thought they looked pretty unflattering.

All that said, agree no one in miami will remotely notice what you're wearing, so might as well do what you want to do!

Just got back from Miami - spent much more time at the pool than on the beach, but the cheeky suits/thongs were VERY popular ... to the point where I bought a new bottom so I didn't feel so matronly (I'm 36, fwiw). They were literally everrrrywhere. I say go for it and feel confident, OP!

I don't find them comfortable at all, but you do you.

Side eye that you aren’t wearing a thong?

I find thongs pretty unflattering in that they can elongate the butt and are like high waisted jeans, but I like the bottoms that cut straight across but show a little extra cheek. I'm very fit, fairly thin, and don't have any cellulite, but I have a bit of a F(lat)ass that does not seem to improve with weight lifting and squats. A normal bikini bottom (even fuller coverage in some respects) but that let's the cheek hang out a bit on the bottom kind of gives the illusion of having more of a butt.

Something like this:
