My son doesn’t cry and he has fun at preschool but he always says he doesn’t want to go. When he’s home he’s with his nanny, toddler sister, and DH and I still are working from home.
Is it an issue with his preschool? It’s all play-based with really nice grounds. He says it’s fun and loves his teachers. It’s just a few hours five days a week. Normal? |
| Normal IMO. I have a just turned 4 year old who loves her preschool (and they treat her well!) but she will say she doesn't want to go. Being home is comfy! |

It was normal for us. DD went to a morning preschool three days a week at that age, and while she no longer cried after the first couple days and seemed to have fun there, she told me pretty much every time that she didn't want to go. Due to Covid she'd been home with me full time for a year at that point, so that was part of it. But I also just think age 3 is a big year for attachment/bonding with kids -- that was absolutely her clingiest age to date.
Now, at 4 (almost 5) she's in a full day (9-3) preschool Monday-Friday, and she never says she doesn't want to go. She gets excited about going back to school on Monday, too. And when she has to stay home sick, she is sad to miss out on stuff there. She's still super attached to me and definitely loves her mama time after school, but there is zero resistance. I think it's just age, and also consistency. It can take some time for them to acclimate to the concept of going somewhere else every day, if they aren't used to going to daycare (which mine was not). But they get used to it and it gets better. |

| My 3 year old is the same |
| It's not literally the preschool he doesn't like, but the transition of it all - having to stop his funplayrine with nanny, going potty, getting shoes on, getting out the door, etc. It's kinda a drag (I don't like it much either). |
| Totally normal. DD always says she doesn’t want to go to school but then has a great time. |
| Yrs. Normal. |
| Home is too attractive. Parents need to GTFO to the office and nanny and sister need to be super boring. |
NP here. We don’t have offices anymore. This is forever for us. |
