I desperately need new bakeware--cookie sheets, cake pans (8" or 10" rounds), a jelly roll pan. Overwhelmed by choices. I bake a lot and have been making do with my crappy, purchased cheapest available 10 years ago, stuff and desiring to have grown-up equipment finally.
Please suggest the brand, line, and where to purchase (Target, Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma, etc). Quality of product and ease of maintenance (dishwasher safe, or easy to scrub down) more important than price. Would prefer to avoid non-stick coatings because my old non stick pans all had their coating flake off. Thanks in advance! |
1) Go to Hill's Kitchen off of 8th and Pennsylvania across from the Eastern Market metro station. 2) Buy whatever Leah's got. 3) Bake things. |

Rose levey berenbaum (author of the cake bible) likes chicago metallic brand baking pans.
So I found out that the Williams-sonoma baking pans are all Chicago Metallic. and I bought one of those. But honestly I've been using el cheapo Wilton bakeware for years and not had a problem, and I bake cakes and cupcakes pretty regularly. They're mostly all light-colored metal pans, as I understand the darker ones can cause some issues. |
| Chicago Metallic--for sure. I found mine at a Ross or TJ Maxx. |
| Cooks Illustrated magazine likes Chicago Metallic products too. |
