This thread has consumed you. You’ve been refreshing it every 30 seconds. Quite evident from your activity. I’d say you’ve lost - in countless ways. |
Let the good times roll, I’m gonna make some popcorn, sit back and just laugh at all the dumb comments. Keep em commin… |
Need to shut this thread down STAT!!! |
For the preseason top 10: MD - 70 (not counting DC area) LI - 59 And if you take out #10 Stony Brook (24 for LI) and #9 Loyola (13 for MD) which draw primarily from LI and MD, respectively, the numbers are as follows for the preseason top 8: MD - 57 LI - 35 Not going to add in Upstate, because the guy moving the goal posts doesn't get to change the comparison twice... Plus Long Island itself (7.8M) is more populous than the whole state of MD (6.1M), and I discounted the DC area players from MD. From the data on current 2024 rosters, there is no way to claim that LI is superior to MD in recruiting. The opposite is true, and by a wide margin. |
A team from MD is a MD team. A team from VA is a VA team. There are no DC teams.
And Baltimore teams are better than the Bethesda and VA teams. |
Honey, I’ll be right back. Someone on the internet is wrong. |
Can Data Guy run an analysis on recruiting results comparing Capital with Hero’s and Coppermine over the past few years? Curious how many top 20s and ivies each year has sent dating back the past several years. |
Goal post shifter is at it again. Now it is how many Ivy players each have sent? A lot of that has to do with economics as well and nothing to do with playing. ability or IQ. |
You left out MnD |
It’s common knowledge players at elite levels either use the sport to play competitive lacrosse in college or use it as a way to attend the strongest academic school possible. An analysis of this kind is a fair metric. Why would you disparage this? If Balto teams are as good as you say they are, they should crush in both categories, right? |
Fine to include M&D but Hero’s and Coppermine parents are the main chest-pounders here, so those stats are relevant to the core audience here. |
And I will concede that Capital parents probably have higher incomes than those in the Baltimore area which clearly opens up more options at expensive schools like the Ivies and schools like Georgetown, BC and Northwestern. We all know you don’t get a lot of $ from colleges for lax. |
You assume everyone can afford these schools. It is not a level playing field in that regard. |
Ah .. some preemptive discussion conditioning happening here. Someone doesn’t like where this thread is heading. … |
And let’s not forget all the connections Capital parents work. Hell, you can hear the desperation in the wannabe Capital parents’ voices on this thread. |
