And here we go. The desperate FCV dad looking for recognition through his daughter.
In 3,2,1.......
You’re paranoid. I have no daughters and I’m not FCV. I’m one of the Loudoun coaches leaving after this Spring.
Coach leaving after spring (likely being fired due to incompetence) comes on the board and bad mouths his club. Great, stand-up guy.
Anyhow, for the older ages we all knew that FCV would win head to head with Loudoun. That ship has sailed. FCV took all the best Loudoun players when DA/ECNL partnership broke apart and FCV got DA. So let’s look at the results. As you’ll see FCV won head to head in two age brackets out of five. Hardly dominance, but yes they did well in the brackets they were placed in. Good to see Loudoun taking the high road and letting FCV play. BTW, does FCV even hold tournaments? No, that would take money, which we all know TSJ is short on these days.
U14. Both FCV GA and Loudoun ECNL played up in the U15 brackets and did well. They did not play head to head. Loudoun played in a higher bracket than FCV and went 2-1 losing to a strong Herndon team coached by McLean’s ECNL coach with several girls that play up in the 05 age (2 ages older than 07’s) range normally. FCV played in the 3rd bracket and won their games against weak competition. Too bad no head to head here.
U15. They did not play head to head. Again Loudoun was in a higher bracket and finished 2nd. FCV did very well, but played against poor competition. FCV should have been in the top bracket. FCV in this age group routinely loses to Arlington who is now ECNL. The top 4-5 kids on that FCV team have ties to Loudoun and live in Loudoun. We’ll see what shakes out next fall now that Loudoun has axed this current underperforming 06 coach, especially if TSJ goes bankrupt or moves to their practice venue in Springfield
U16. FCV 3-0 over Loudoun and won their bracket, but FCV tied MD United ECNL who tied Loudoun. About what was expected. Shows that FCV is not dominant over ECNL teams at that age, but is very good. Again, we all already knew this. Was disappointed that FCV and McLean didn’t play each other.
U17. FCV 3-0 over Loudoun. FCV won the group. About what was expected. Same commentary as U16. Loudoun went 2-1. McLean won their group easily and should have been up in top group. Would have liked to see the FCV v. McLean game.
U18 no teams from either club
U19. No head to head. FCV lost to McLean 0-1, but went 2 wins 1 loss on the weekend. Loudoun ECNL went 3-0 beating two good Maryland teams including MD United, but was in lower bracket than FCV.
Those are the facts. Nothing much to see here that was not already known.
