These team have young players playing up as many other teams do. If you believe there is no top competition for your team it is probably time to find more challenge for some of your top players and have them playing up.

You're missing the point. The top flight could have been really strong with VDA, FCV, Loudoun and Maryland United...but Loudoun probably wouldn't have fared as well, so instead they bumped FCV and Maryland United down and bumped up two teams that their team could get better results against...All about saving a little face. #RepTheRed!

Right, time to creat your own showcase or arrange scrimmage with these top teams.

“Scrimmages” LOL.

This area is so obsessed with scrimmages. Let’s just create a thread dedicated to talking about practice.

As opposed to what area?

And here we go. The desperate FCV dad looking for recognition through his daughter.

In 3,2,1.......

You’re paranoid. I have no daughters and I’m not FCV. I’m one of the Loudoun coaches leaving after this Spring.

Coach leaving after spring (likely being fired due to incompetence) comes on the board and bad mouths his club. Great, stand-up guy.

Anyhow, for the older ages we all knew that FCV would win head to head with Loudoun. That ship has sailed. FCV took all the best Loudoun players when DA/ECNL partnership broke apart and FCV got DA. So let’s look at the results. As you’ll see FCV won head to head in two age brackets out of five. Hardly dominance, but yes they did well in the brackets they were placed in. Good to see Loudoun taking the high road and letting FCV play. BTW, does FCV even hold tournaments? No, that would take money, which we all know TSJ is short on these days.

U14. Both FCV GA and Loudoun ECNL played up in the U15 brackets and did well. They did not play head to head. Loudoun played in a higher bracket than FCV and went 2-1 losing to a strong Herndon team coached by McLean’s ECNL coach with several girls that play up in the 05 age (2 ages older than 07’s) range normally. FCV played in the 3rd bracket and won their games against weak competition. Too bad no head to head here.
U15. They did not play head to head. Again Loudoun was in a higher bracket and finished 2nd. FCV did very well, but played against poor competition. FCV should have been in the top bracket. FCV in this age group routinely loses to Arlington who is now ECNL. The top 4-5 kids on that FCV team have ties to Loudoun and live in Loudoun. We’ll see what shakes out next fall now that Loudoun has axed this current underperforming 06 coach, especially if TSJ goes bankrupt or moves to their practice venue in Springfield
U16. FCV 3-0 over Loudoun and won their bracket, but FCV tied MD United ECNL who tied Loudoun. About what was expected. Shows that FCV is not dominant over ECNL teams at that age, but is very good. Again, we all already knew this. Was disappointed that FCV and McLean didn’t play each other.
U17. FCV 3-0 over Loudoun. FCV won the group. About what was expected. Same commentary as U16. Loudoun went 2-1. McLean won their group easily and should have been up in top group. Would have liked to see the FCV v. McLean game.
U18 no teams from either club
U19. No head to head. FCV lost to McLean 0-1, but went 2 wins 1 loss on the weekend. Loudoun ECNL went 3-0 beating two good Maryland teams including MD United, but was in lower bracket than FCV.

Those are the facts. Nothing much to see here that was not already known.

Do you feel better now? You threw out the bait. People took it. You reeled them in. Atta boy

You’re wrong, as usual. I didn’t post anything on this thread until I laid out the facts above. Do you not like facts? Do they conflict with your opinions?

A bi-partisan, but passionate poster, without a dog in the fight..I’m sure.

You FCV parents can ask your coach why they dodge VDA 2006 girls. Straight up DODGING... won't even scrimmage.

It looked like Loudoun had 5 strong teams in multiple age groups and didn’t want to put 4 teams in a true top bracket and one Strong team mismatched in a weaker second bracket. FCV’s top performing teams are 04 and 05 and Loudoun played both teams so doesn’t look like they were trying to avoid playing FCV’s strong teams.

It looks like Loudoun 06 is also stronger than FCV’s.

Loudoun Ecnl 06 results have not been as strong as a FCV GAL in the last year, but they have consistently played stronger teams. The two teams are probably pretty close as far as level

If Loudoun 06 was so strong than why wouldn’t Loudoun have put FCV 06 in the same bracket so they could play each other? They did for every other group... Looks like FCV 06 outscored their opponents like11-0... sounds like they should have been put in the higher bracket and the weaker teams should have been moved down. Just an observation...

FCV U17 is overrated.

FCV 06 has been better based on overall results no doubt, but again would probably be pretty close match. I am guessing Loudoun tournament committee wanted to give the Syracuse 06 team quality games (because they were supposed to be strong and were coming a long way to tourney). If FCV and MDU were in a top bracket with VDA this would not have been possible. Just a guess

Results based on their own league, which is weaker. FCV played FCGB in the WAGS and tied 0-0, VDA blasted FCGB 4-0 (with about 90% ball control). There is no way to determine this until Jeff Cup in two weeks. Looking forward to some badass competitions.

True. But previous posters claim it is Fcv that is afraid to play Loudoun... but here Loudoun had the opportunity to have them play head to head and didn’t.... so who doesn’t want to play who? VDA is a different story... FCV and VDA will be a great game.

If both make it to the final of the top bracket of Jeff Cup it would be a nice game.

Depends what side you’re on

Nope.
