More importantly - where is Cody? He has been silent on social and his classes are canceled for the next week. His BF posted a pic of himself in quarantine today, but even if Cody's in quarantine, you'd think he could post? Seems weird, hope all is ok. |
People are being so psycho about this on FB. He obviously either has COVID or is on COVID watch. He doesn't feel like sharing every health update with the bajillion people who want to know so has gone radio silent. But he lives with his BF. Also originally only one week of classes was cancelled and now next week's are being cancelled so I would imagine he tested positive again and couldn't come back as anticipated. He will be back in a couple weeks and it will be fine. I do not think us peloton riders (boo crew or not) are entitled to his medical records. Plenty of people like to keep health stuff to themselves. |
I mean, of course, but he's usually so forthcoming about everything. I think most people are just concerned, not being creepy? I haven't seen the FB stuff. |
Ppl on the BooCrew page are flipping out with rumors that he has left Peloton. I think it's more likely he is in quarantine with his BF. It does make me wonder how will people be able manage if/when he does eventually move on from Peloton. Maybe they should begin mentally preparing for that day... |
We bought right when everything shut down. DH loves it and uses it 4-5x/week. I use it 2x/week if at all, but I hate cardio. When I do use it, it's a great workout and I love Robin the trainer. She's a bad!#@ and is doing crazy rides while being pregnant. |
Man I'm the pp saying people are being psycho about this but I will be pretty dang sad when Cody leaves, and I like other instructors! But he's really my main man. Can brighten my day if I need a pick me up. I would hope peloton would be prepared to offer him a pretty penny to stick around. That said, I heard peloton instructors are making like 500k a year. Where else is a spin instructor going to make that kind of money? I mean sure I guess he decides to go and start his own business or something but if you're bought into peloton you're bought in, only so many people will follow him. |
I got mine at the end of September and have really enjoyed it so far. Mostly, because, for the first time since college, something has gotten me moving 5 out of 7 days a week. I used to be a competitive athlete, but once I lost the structure of a team sport or individual commitment to training for certain goals/competitions, I completely fell off wagon of fitness. And gym memberships/boutique classes never stuck...I think it was because I didn't like the additional time associated with travel to and from classes, finding time in my limited schedule, or feeling like I was the least fit in the room. I've also always been thin, so losing weight was never a motivator for me to get moving.
Peloton makes it very, very easy because its so ACCESSIBLE. I can jump on for 15, 20, 30 mins (my butt gets too uncomfortable to do more than that) whenever I have time, no commute required. I can pick classes that are as hard or easy as I want. No one makes me feel self-conscious because I'm alone in my house. I'm not really in to the "cult" of Peloton, but seeing/hearing so many other people be so into and so motivated is motivating for me too. I enjoy tacking on a 20 min strength classes, I like the yoga, and have really enjoyed the stretching classes as well. For me, its been well worth the money because its the first thing I've found that I could easily commit to doing for even this long. Sounds silly, but five days a week of movement every week since September is a big deal for me. And its been so nice to have a way to move when I'm otherwise stuck in a high-rise condo all day. |
Matt has been off as well. He posted that he was taking time off to read and relax a bit. Posted a few rides he was planning on doing but nothing major. The rumors are crazy but I suspect that it is COVID related. They don't have to tell anyone why they are off, I am fine with that. |
Good to hear- we have had the app for a year now and the classes are great. Our home bike isn't very good, so we are getting the Peleton bike delivered next month. Excellent to hear you like it! |
Agree. But peleton people (not people who own and use peletons, mind you but the people who find it to be some kind of identity) give it an annoyingly bad rap. Most people who have them use them and enjoy them and aren't like rabid or talking to their friends over dinner about their leaderboard scores but those who do...oh boy, talk about pathetic |
Cody is the head of cycling. Pretty sure he has a non-compete agreement He's back on schedule next week. |
The cool mom club in my neighborhood just got pelotons and it’s all they talk about on FB. The inside jokes/memes make me eyeroll SO HARD. I’m in great shape but didn’t need to spend thousands to keep up with the Jones to do it. |
He is? I thought that was wilpers? |
Someone sounds jealous the cool mom club can afford Pelotons and she can't. So instead you like to come on the Peloton threads and tell everyone how much better you are than them because you are too cool for Peloton. Right. |
+1 "I'm in great shape but...." LOL |
