In the real world, where one child dying does not suffice for reason enough to shut down the rest of the society.

Curious how many dead is your threshold to shut down society.

358 H1N1 pediatric deaths in 18 months in 2009-2010.

192 influenza pediatric deaths during the 2019-20 flu season.

https://www.masslive.com/news/2020/10/cdc-near-record-number-of-children-died-from-flu-during-2019-2020-season.html

All extremely sad, yet society did not shut down.

I’m sorry, I missed the part where the OP recommended any sort of shutdown or any action whatsoever in response to this news. It seems that you are the one politicizing this child’s death. Shame on you. What we do as a society about the pandemic should’ve discussed. But not in the context of grieving for a child and not on this thread.

What do we have so far?
Not the whole story,
she must've had something else wrong
Kids don't die from corona
Most 70-year-olds don't die from corona
50-year-olds don't die from corona
You likely had it and didn't know you had it
It is that mild
20-year-olds don't even feel it
kids should go to school bcs there is no evidence they will kill grandma with it
look at fact above, nobody 70 and up really dies from it, so 20-year-olds and kids should do everything normally bcs they will not kill anyone with it
We would not even know this kid died from corona if she was not in the new before! So, this death doesn't count as we normally would not know about it
IF WE DON"T KNOW IT, IT IS NOT REAL.

I'm sorry but you aren't very bright.

If you read this again, you will see I was responding not to the OP, but to the PP asking how many deceased children would justify shutting down society. I’m assuming no one on this thread knows this child personally. Otherwise, yes I agree this wouldn’t be the thread to raise these points.
