Have any of the NOVA daycares closed? I believe since all the private centers are franchised owned its up to the single owner. I feel like once one does they will all follow. I know several in DC have already. |
For those who think childcare should only be provided to nurses, doctors, and first responders: so you'd really be ok with the cessation of all other basic services like mail delivery, trash pickup, utilities, weather forecasts, etc.? You'd be ok with no one coming to fix a water main break or downed power line? You'd be ok with the people who work to protect us from terrorism and other threats just letting that all go for now? You'd be ok with all grocery stores closing up and meal delivery services for seniors to cease?
I could go on. Point being, it's not really up to me or any posters on here to judge who is essential or not. Governors like Hogan are taking this seriously but also recognize that we need to have some continuity. If we all do what what can, it will help a lot. I saw tons of kids at a local park yesterday playing and their parents socializing. Whereas kids in a daycare are at least with the same kids and staff day after day and less likely to be going elsewhere. |
It's also about the people who are being told they cannot wfh. There are people who are still going into offices in shifts for example and will lose their jobs if they don't show up for their assigned period. Do you want them to lose their jobs? |
our Nova daycare is closed. It is in a church building, so that may have something to do with it. |
