Look at DC, under democratic leadership has a bond rating and surplus that every jurisdiction in the country would trade for. Of course there are issue - some schools are lagging, there is homelessness etc, but that is life everywhere there are people.

If things are so great, how about we end the subsidies to red states?

lol that is based on people of means moving back in DC government is incompetence and corrupt.

and aren't you Ds worried about income inequality or something too

It is the DC Government that has the highest bond rating and largest surplus in the country. That has less than zero to do with the Federal government.

duh it's because rich people are moving back to DC aka gentrification and again isn't that something you Ds are concerned about

I just made $2000 today for literally doing nothing by using some extra money I had to fart around with on the market. Guess what I'll be doing with the cash...... Spending it on more Xmas gifts.

All of this great sentiment about the economy is paying off and is getting re-invested right back into the economy. Best American economy in decades. We've had a record breaking black Friday and Cyber Monday. .Xmas sales are blowing up. I'll be glad to contribute more to the economy this weekend after this fantastic week of investing.

It probably enrages Democrats that I made money and will be spending money to help this economy even more.

Today's economic numbers are the Democrats worst nightmare.

"Friday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” network anchor Jim Cramer reacted to the announcement that the United States economy added 266,000 jobs for the month of November and the unemployment rate fell to 3.5%, which match the lowest level in 50 years.

Cramer said the numbers are “the best” he has ever seen in his life.

“Look, Joe, you and I both know … … you can’t contradict that these are the best numbers of our lives,” Cramer told host Joe Kernen. “You can’t. I mean, we had guns and butter when we were doing these things 50 years ago, and that fall with inflation and recession.”

He continued, “I don’t see inflation. I don’t see recession. Fifty years ago that number was a curse. Now it’s a blessing. And you know something, Joe … it doesn’t matter whether you hate them or like them, these are real numbers.”

No.

It does not enrage Democrats. You really need to allay off the FOX news. You sound brainwashed.

I am a Dem and do not care if you buy Xmas presents. Lol.

Honestly.

Also, the economy will matter less in this election than in past elections because Trump's outrageous behavior - his obnoxious tweets, corruption, idiocy, and bullying - has made the election a referendum on his personality above anything else.

Haha. The economy is doing well bc of Obama then.

Yet the desperate and failing (see what I did there?) Repubs claim victory for the hard work a Dem did.

And our neighbor to the north:

"Canada lost 71,200 jobs, the biggest monthly loss since the financial crisis, according to Canada’s national statistics agency.

Unemployment in the U.S. fell to 3.5 percent, returning to the 50-year low hit earlier this year. Canadian unemployment jumped to 5.9 percent from 5.5 percent a month earlier."

We have a growing economy and Canada? Not so much.

The unemployment rate remained steady during November, while the labor force participation also stayed even at 63.2 percent.

remember

Long term labor shortages do not happen naturally in market economies. That is not to say that they don't exist. They are created when employers or government agencies tamper with the natural functioning of the wage mechanism.

"[To attract] workers, the employer may have to increase his wage offer. ... So when you hear an employer saying he needs immigrants to fill a "labor shortage'', remember what you are hearing: a cry for a labor subsidy to allow the employer to avoid the normal functioning of the labor market."
