The 2014 deal with Trump and the airport proves that Trump has something to do with the airport, which is what he denied today. Also, this: “The Scottish government has also drawn attention for considering steering business to Turnberry as part of its courtship of the U.S. military.” https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/opinion/articles/2018-07-13/trump-s-u-k-trip-a-money-losing-scottish-golf-paradise?__twitter_impression=true |
“A US Defence Department agency has postponed a lucrative new military aircraft refuelling deal with Glasgow Prestwick Airport amid multiple investigations and growing political scrutiny on both sides of the Atlantic into US military patronage and spending at the loss making hub and President Donald Trump’s flagship Scottish resort.”

TRUMP TURNBERRY STAFF CONFIRM: Military stays at Trump Doonbeg have been a regular occurrence, with buses carrying soldiers or Marines arriving as late as 2 a.m. Less expensive hotels are right next to the airport. The Trump resort is a 40-minute drive. |
Republicans only care about fiscal responsibility when Democrats are in charge. If it's their own party, it's the gravy train! |
40 trips by the military over the last few years. |
But see, Trump supporters thinks this is “smart” and evidence he’s a “good businessman.” Plus, “But but Hillary’s emails!” |
This is an outrageous abuse of the office of the President. Keep it coming whistleblowers! We know there’s a lot more!! |
Seriously. Amoral scum. |
What rate is military paying? |
The USAF is using this “since 2015” language, and not giving us a breakdown of # of stays since 2017. But a couple figures worth noting:
1) Turnberry was closed for renovations from 9/2015-mid 2016. 2 Overnights in the area have increased from 40 in 2015, to 220 in 2018-2019. - Natasha Bertrand So given that Turnbury was closed until mid 2016, it seems most of those 220 crew stays "since 2015" would have taken place in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The bigger issue is how much more the USAF is paying for fuel at the private airport and who is getting the graft on that? |
Correction, 220 stays per year. 10-20 crew members per stay, that is a lot of room nights that the US Military is paying to the President. |
Another non-scandal that Dems are trying mightily to make a scandal.

Trump is still directly benefiting. No one said Trump ordered this, but he is making money off of your tax dollars, when there are cheaper options near the airport or on US/RAF bases elsewhere.
Domestic emolument is still illegal. |
They paid the government rate. Or, less than the govt. rate. "The New York Times, meanwhile, found that the deal involved the Air Force paying a discounted rate of as little as $130 a night, compared with a typical rate of more than $300 a night. It was one of 13 hotels booked by the airport, and is approximately 40 minutes away from the airport." |
Hi! Policy signed under—you guessed it—Obama. Sorry guys but you can blame America’s worst president for your latest temper tantrum. https://m.theepochtimes.com/air-force-deal-to-refuel-near-trump-resort-signed-while-obama-was-president-reports_3081215.html |
