VDA v Arlington girls scrimmages?

The scores across the age groups are interesting Evans’s there are few opportunities to gauge ECNL clubs against DA clubs, and there’s been so much discussion of dilution and quality spread. The scores indicated that these two clubs have similarities leveled teams. Great, for what it’s worth which may be nothing. I don’t understand the anger in either direction, whether against asking the question or about being interested in the answer. And the very specific baiting about specific teams in specific age groups is pretty over the top. Good lord.

Scores may not indicate anything substantial about the quality of soccer being played.

Here we go again.

I agree. The scores dont not show everything. You need to watch the game to understand the time and quality of possession, number of shots on goal, etc. A team that dominates an entire game can lose on a single lapse in judgement. A tie is not necessarily well deserved. Neither is a win. However, the score is the score.

Nobody remembers a ugly win or a great game that ended in a lose.

Either you get the points or you don't.

How long are we going to keep this going. Until the next set of scrimmages?

There aren't any points to "get" in a scrimmage. I think that's the point that some people aren't getting.

I concur with everything you said, as long as you're talking about a regular season/playoff/tournament game where the win or loss counts for something. But applying the same logic to the results of a scrimmage just doesn't work. Too many potential team objectives involved involved to apply any real meaning to a simple scoreline. Which is the reason why you get such round-and-round arguments here on DCUM.

Don't worry though, the regular season will be here before you know it!

The constant asking about these specific scrimmages is nothing more than a parent seeking validation over the league they either picked or are considering picking.

They believe scrimmages between DA and ECNL teams will provide insight into which league their DD should play. That is what is both funny and annoying about the demands of the scores.

Maybe. Could be even more petty than that. Could just be a parent with a kid that is now a backup but on a winning team.

VDA parents really don't like “Winning, but bench player” Dad, do they?

Repeating the same quote doesn't help. What is ""winning, but bench player" Dad, do they?" mean?
