| I agree. I'd call GMU for individual test if GBRS higher than 10. A friend of mine's daughter was accepted a few years ago with GBRS of 11. |
There are no group tests until fall. You’ll have to do an individual test for your child. FCPS lists the ones they accept, like WISC V, Stanford Binet, etc. |
| Thank you all. I will try for GMU indivudual test. So irrespective of whether he gets gbrs 11 or higher , my understanding for appeal is u need to have WISC V right ? Also what is WISC format like? |
You can appeal this year and apply every year. Also, in middle school there are AAP English, science, and social studies classes which are probably similar to honors but still different classes. |
Regardless of the GBRS, appeal if the WISC is high. A high WISC can override even a really low GBRS. |
You cannot register for whatever courses you want in middle school. |
| No mail for 22031. Was out of town this week and just got back hoping for answers. Guess have to wait another day. Friend at 22031 didn’t get it either. |
Friend at 22032 (not 22031) fat finger typo
|
Why do you want/need to know the format of the WISC? |
For the obvious reason, of course. |
| Prepping?! |
|
Thank you. I would have not asked about next steps if I had stayed on top of this. If we would have done prepping for NNaT and Cogat. Having said that, no its not prepping. I just wanted to know what this GMU test is all about. Will research. Thank you all for your responses.
Does DRA play any role in all of this? |
Do not blame on prepping or not. We didn't prep it is IQ test. If your child deserve it will get in. Both our kids in aap. No prep. I only filled the question form from parents. |
That's the wrong way to look at it. DRA is included in the packet and is a part of the decision. |
| The testers make sure the child hasn’t already taken, or prepped for the test being administered. If they suspect it, they can switch to a different test. |
