Everyone I have ever known who danced professionally did it before college. Granted, they were all in ballet, so my reference may be narrow, but they were all dancers before studying.

A PP cited someone claiming they had been a dance major and had gone into law. That might have happened 30 to 40 years ago but not now. Competition for grad school is too fierce. I've encouraged my kids to take marketable majors in engineering, computer science, unique foreign language, etc.
