I'm not riled up about leotards and bare legs (although my 7 year old did ask where her pants were). But I just think Beyonce needs to wear something different/do something different for a change. It is always a leotard and bare legs, and it's always the same act.

It's her signature style and she's entitled to it. And she's almost a billionaire. And she has a great body. Pretty sure she can do what she wants.

Pretty sure that motif these posters are jealous and insecure.

WTH? Anytime you have an opinion that may not be complimentary to a celebrity automatically means you're jealous and insecure? What BS! I'm sure you've never made a negative comment about someone famous, pp, right? And I said B is talented but her routine is tired. That's all. Just wish she would change it up a bit. If they ask her back a year from now, pretty sure she'll be in a leotard with bare legs and flinging her hair around while a bunch of ladies dance behind her. Just a prediction.

So black people are not part of "middle America?"

I'm black and I agree about her performance. It was overly sexualized and I agree the black panther suggestion was rather bold. Not sure SB should've been her platform.

Other than the leotard, what was sexualized? Why is it okay for men (Bruno) to pump his crotch (a la Michael Jackson) but not okay for Beyonce to do a booty shake? Why the double standard?

It's not. When did grabbing your crotch become a normal dance move? I know you have one. Why do you have to grab it like a 3yo boy who has to go pee? Regarding Beyoncé, I (white woman) think she is gorgeous and looks great in a leotard. My complaint is that she wears the same type of outfit - leotard with no pants - and does the same dance moves - shake and hump - over and over. She's a good dancer. Doesn't she have other moves?

I don't get this idea that a performer has to constantly reinvent themselves. I say stick with what works and do it well. Beyonce does.

Having to constantly reinvent yourself sounds exhausting and can get to be desperate looking (I'm looking at you, Madonna).

She does other moves but if you are not into hip hop dancing, you wouldn't recognize it.

Bruno didn't promote a quasi-terrorist group like the KKK. She did.

Poor soul.

Leaving 21:25's comment alone, wondering whether the people who think Bey's routine is repetitive find Coldplay repetitive? They played several songs, which IMO sounded pretty similar. CM's performance looked pretty similar to other concert footage I've seen.

A PP here. I guess I don't know because Ive only seen snippets of his performances once or twice. So, it's probably the same old, same old, but I feel like I see Beyoncé many more places and I always see the same thing.

Can't really say because I didn't see a Coldplay choreographed dance to compare to B's.

I have nothing against Beyonce but can assure you am most certainly not jealous in ANY WAY shape or form however I agree with others that every one of her performances is the same, same outfits, overly sexualized dance moves, the same flippping hair, always her moving in the wind with a posse of dancers behind her.....its all so predictable that well, its rather boring.

I embrace and enjoy many types of music and really liked the half time show. I did not care for Bruno Mars' wardrobe but his voice redeemed that. CP I thought was great and full of energy and Beyonce was well just predictable.

How about they just play music and stop with the annoying political statements. Beyoncé is a rich black woman. She IS proof success can be had. Shut up and sing

Yes. How dare musicians create music to send a message that's important to them?!

Her message isn't that there is no black success. Her message in part was that Black lives matter. I'm all for her message, I just hope that part of her message involves more than that. Black lives matter needs to stand more for than just police killing us. It needs to stand for us killing us, for us failing to break away from the effects of slavery, segregation etc. after so many years. I need to hear more in her message. More empowerment for us to get our crap together. It's not enough to just focus on what keeps us down or has kept us down as a race. But hey. it's a start.

I'm the one that brought up this subject. You are correct - 100% so. Thank you for bringing your thoughts to the discussion

In a nation where black people are being oppressed by whites and white privilege rules? Say it ain't so!

Are you kidding? Madonna is the queen of reinvention! And no, a performer doesn't constantly need to be reinventing themselves, but maybe once every 10 years, change it up a LITTLE. Her routine is the same as Crazy in Love in 2003. Exact same. I think people expect successful artists to change it up because they are admired for creativity, hence not the same performance over and over again.

Beyoncé's performance was predictable, but I still found it all entertaining. Stick with what works.

I just want to know - how did they manage to have the wind blowing in her hair (and only her hair, no one else's moved) in the closing moments of the show? I know that's one of her trademark stage looks, but I can't imagine there was a fan directed only on her.
