I am not familiar with Fox Mill Woods but I can see how it wouldn't be much fun to feel the way you do - shunned by the "in" group. Like middle school. Ugh. You should develop your own fun for pool members - even (especially) for those not on the swim team. Seriously. Since when did it become law that only the swim team members can organize socials and bbqs at the pool? Why not plan your own for a Friday evening when there isn't a swim meet. Even have pool games in the afternoon/evenings for all member kids to attend. Nothing fancy - Marco Polo free play. Start off small. If 5 kids show up - hey, that's 5 kids.... No one should feel ostracized at the neighborhood pool. Kids have one childhood to enjoy - they should enjoy it! |
