She could certainly say that, but it's ultimately not the doula's call where the IV is placed. Some people are harder sticks than others, some places are more difficult locations for IVs than others, etc., and the answers to those questions for any given person are not ones under the doula's scope of practice. Advocacy does not equal medical knowledge, skill, or a medical license. I'm not sure some people understand those differences. |
