No doubt it is expensive. We have charted cats for less in med and carribean but with teens they simply want more. White boat you are hitting 100k-1m or more for a week. It is the poor man’s option for decent time on a large cruise ship; no lines, best seats at dinner or shows, anything delivered if they are open. Our suite was two levels with a hot tub on balcony. Mid tier. |
| You get what you pay for. We did a week-long Galapagos cruise, 30k for the four of us. The ship only had 32 passengers so we spent no time waiting in line and lots of time seeing the islands. Food was fresh and delicious, service was outstanding. |
Sounds boring. |
She probably was no longer contagious but your kids touch every and it has germs. You need to do the cruise around your kids and not you wants. |
OP has three children. No napping while the baby naps. |
What cruise line was that? I paid significantly more for a relatively short cruise without the "upgrades" (which I agree seem unnecessary, but I'm not there for the food.) |
And I have 4 kids and we’ve always vacationed with them. Think of all the trips we would have missed if we waited for them to grow up? We took our first cruise when our youngest was 2 and everyone had fun (all 6 of us). And we found it relaxing. We took a family nap break. The older kids watched tv if they didn’t want to nap (2 cabins). |
30 - 90k for one week on a lame ass cruise lol |
You do you! |
| Cruising sucks unless it's one of those ritz carlton yacht low density or maybe Disney cruise. It must be expensive and have fewer people |
How many times have you cruised? Which ships? Fwiw I can report that you need not spend a fortune to have a nice cruise—and it need not be a Ritz Carlton or Disney cruise. If you want to avoid crowds, try a smaller, older ship. |
The more people and cost friendly the more it turns into EBT of the seas |

Any vacation is tough with a toddler and 2 kids.
I know you feel like being pulled in all directions as every person feels they need to be in a constant state of contentment! I know of a family with 4 kids, and the dad starts every outing and day trip starts with a speech to the kids: ‘Mommy is my number 1’ A cruise can be fun, but I think all the family members need to be at an age to enjoy it. We are talking about a mall on a ship with some activities. Kids can get over stimulated, hyper and it can just be too much. Not to mention you are in a crowded place that most likely has its share of sexual predators too. So keep an eye on all your kids all the time |
. I can't speak to cruising but have multiple friends and family who have absolutely loved the Disney cruises. |
| Choose a small ship, kid free, and upscale. Much more enjoyable not to have to stand in buffet lines or make reservations at upcharged restaurants. |
