Election Day 2025 Results Thread

Normally I'd think it would move the needle drastically, but it would not surprise me if Trump gets in a snit and prolongs it. What I could see happening is that the clean CR is passed just to get everyone back and paid while they hammer out a full year funding bill. But that's a risk for the Dems. There would have to be some major assurances/action for them to agree to that.

She really did. I was just in NJ a week ago and people really thought she would lose. This is not a single aberration election. This is a Blue Wave.

I don't get his point. Is he saying more states will redistrict to strengthen their numbers now?

No, he's saying that Republicans lost so much ground tonight and underperformed expectations so they should be careful about aggressively drawing new districts thinking Republicans would win them..

it makes it harder to draw republican only districts if there is an expected swing towards dems. You can only shave off so many voters before making an incumbent vulnerable.

He’s saying they might back off redistricting plans, because trying to make more Republican leaning districts instead of fewer strong Republican districts can backfire spectacularly in a wave year.

Dem Rep Adam Smith from WA said “MAGA hasn’t shut down the government, it’s dissolved it.”

Basically, this is the coup.

We’ll see what the sunshine brings tomorrow.

They started it last week. Karoline said there’s massive fraud in CA because “it’s obvious.” 🙄

I’m so so happy Mamdani won! I think there will be no faster way to remind Americans how dangerous and terrible socialism truly is as a system than to turn NYC over to this ideaology.
At least, that is my hope.
And then I pray that the pendulum will swing hard and fast back to reason.

+1 We spend about a third of our time in Jersey and I was really worried. I’ve liked her since she flipped that seat in 2018 and her campaign seemed very cautious.

Waiting for talking points

Pretty easy to knock down this one.

Also doesn't explain Democrats flipping 13 seats in the HoD.

Yep. I was hoping he'd win for exactly these reasons.

Poor little you. Reason prevailed tonight in a tsunami of blue.
