MAGA: why so angry?

My question to MAGA is what would make you feel all is right with the world? Trump has all the branches of government so what more is it that you’re looking for?

+100 The only anger I see are from liberals melting down over their loss. The mentally unwell libs are posting videos online about how they are divorcing their spouses because they voted for Trump, threatening violence, shaving their heads etc.

But we aren’t melting down? At least not IRL. Everyone who did melt down in 2016 is like “oh well, you all voted for this madness.” Don’t base your opinion on TikTok.

Agree completely -- where are these meltdowns?

Magas think social media, and everything they see on it, is a reflection of real life. This goes from disinformation posted by random sources to videos on TikTok, which this as confirmation of their beliefs.

What you describe applies more to the Neo-liberals (aka progressives) than to magas.

But you are partly correct to blame social media for sowing extremists views and dividing America.

Time for an S/O topic; I’ll post it in politics momentarily.

Social media is a scourge. The country can't ever really heal and come together until it's eliminated. But it'll never be eliminated so...

Agree.

I believe social media has led to the U.S. suffering from a mass psychosis. I just created an s/o with a video explaining why.

By the way, thr video is a few years old, so it is not some reactionary hit-piece based on the recent election. It is also not an American viewpoint.

But either way, I believe the damage to our society from international social media is highly underestimated.

Eva Longoria has not lived in the US for many years. Reading comprehension is your friend.

Very telling that you can't mention your happiness without mentioning the libs being sad.

I don't see Kamala being angry. Trump is the angry one anytime he types anything on TS.

Nothing worse than sore winners. Though I doubt most of them will be singing the same tune a year from now when they realize Trump's campaign promises are smoke and mirrors and instead he's just embroiled us in a ridiculous political circus.

The way they follow liberals around the internet to try to mock them is something to behold. The whole MAGA identity is hurting the other half of America, by all means necessary.

Some people are addicted to anger.

This is something I've wondered about as the craziness of his second term is already going full throttle and he hasn't even taken office yet. I'm not just referring to all the shotgun cabinet appointments but also already we are getting lots of news of infighting within Trump's inner circle and his surrogates are issuing often conflicting messages to the press. Some of his surrogates like Musk and Gaetz are so much more vocal and all over the place than the people who played those roles last time around. It's already exhausting.

I think a lot of this aspect of Trump as president got overshadowed by Covid and then collective stress over the economy and crime and immigration and people just don't remember what it was like pre-Covid when Trump was creating problems for himself and the US constantly but rarely actually delivering on campaign promises or making anything better. People tend to focus on themselves so this aspect of Trump kind of becomes a blur.

I have wondered if any of the swing voters or centrists who voted for him are watching this unfold and thinking "oh yeah... this guy is messy as AF and amps everyone up all the time and that's maybe not awesome." Even as a Dem who voted for Harris, I'd forgotten what it's really like to just have Trump dominating the news on like 17 different levels at all times and constantly tweeting (er, "truthing") and all these surprise staffing announcements and the constant noisy jockeying for favor among people in Trumpworld. It's exhausting and I can't believe we're going to do it again for another 4 years even setting aside my feelings on policy.

I know the MAGA types love it but there are people who voted for Biden and now Trump and surely at least some of them lament this aspect of Trump?

If you call the happy feeling you get from winning elections in a landslide anger, then yes we are angry.

Be happy then. I think many Democrats are content right now as well. Everybody gets to watch the show.
