If we’re going old school, Overboard with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn is amazing. Totally not PC but amazing.

I was going to suggest this. Goldie hawk was so good and they had such great chemistry.

Yes on Overboard, hilarious.

+1 Sliding Doors. The Birdcage. I still laugh uncontrollably with others when I dead ringer Agador Spartacus (Hank Azaria) at the most inappropriate moments.

+1 this was hilarious. Kate McKinnon is a national treasure. I love their argument scene (no spoilers!)

Do you want it to be "lesser known" or to include "You've Got Mail" and "Overboard"?

Yeah, not a "com" but so so SO good. The leads were so charismatic and their chemistry was amazing (I think they were dating at the time).

Yes! Their chemistry was amazing.

I'm not sure if Birdcage is even acceptable any longer, but I loved that movie.
Dianne Wiest: Somebody has to like me best!
and Oh, what interesting china. It looks like young men playing leap frog.

I also
Love birdcage but wouldn’t say this is a romantic comedy?

Unfortunately for us fans of the movie, Sanaa Lathan, who played the lead Monica, came out a fee years ago saying she was miserable during filming. Though she was dating Omar Epps secretly at the time too.

Oh no!! Why?? I feel bad for loving it so much if she hated making it

Lathan was up against GA Tech player Niesha Butler for the role. Lathan didn't know how to play basketball at all; she was set up with a coach who trained her five hours a day for three months. Butler was given an acting coach who worked her for months. The producer couldn't decide which woman to choose. Apparently, the stress and waiting really wore on Lathan. In better news, she and producer Gina Prince-Bythewood are friends now and even made another movie together.

"For what?"
"Your heart."

Thanks to this thread I just watched Sliding Doors. Decent movie overall but definitely NOT a RomCom. Not exactly the most romantic movie, and certainly not a comedy.

I like that romance movie with Queen Latifah and LL Cool J. I can’t remember the name, maybe something like The Holiday?

Queen Latifah is so versatile and beautiful. I love everything she’s in. Watching her acting makes me smile.
