school for nerdy, not super-rich kids?

It's always fun as a teacher to see kids driving luxury sports cars and brand new land rovers as we drive our 20 year old Carolla to school to teach Christians about the humbleness of Jesus lol.

Also in the 400k-range HHI with one child in a DC private school. I agree that it's not quite like NY or LA, but our daughter is definitely in the lower half of the family income range. The average student in her school has at least one biglaw partner (or equivalent) parent, and as a very rough ballpark, I'd guess that the median HHI in her school is 750K. Not a lot of "super rich," but definitely a good number of kids who have nice summer homes and the like. It's not a huge deal for her, but she's certainly ended up more friendly with the kids who are not from the richest families.

We’re in a slightly higher income range ($550K), and DS was in the bottom quartile of his friend group in terms of income at his public school. Lots of friends with huge beach houses and very expensive cars. It can happen anywhere.

It would be cool to get t shirts printed up that said "rigger rich" to point out the oligarch division of wealth in America and how its rigged to give headstarts and unfair advantages to the rich who rigged America with their lobbiests and dirty money.

Sure, or just work hard and build your own wealth. More fun to sit around and complain though.
