I haven’t heard anything in the news about a USAID RIF or cut. In comparison other agencies have been specifically stated as targets.

Don't you think it is the most useless agency according to new administration.

What source is “its toast” coming from about USAID?

I can’t find anything about the new administration stating it’s useless. I did find this article that makes no mention of USAID about the new budget https://www.heritage.org/budget-and-spending/commentary/top-10-obsolete-government-programs

I read the project 2025 on USAID. It has recommendations on how the agency can be improved, but nothing even close to supporting “it’s toast”.

Wonder who they will name to lead it

that is a big question. Do you have any idea when the new individual will be named?

I think it will be folded into State

Could be, but the Hill likes it separate. More Hill control over their policy. Trump 1 also loved USAID. We had Ivanka hulking around a lot. Good photo ops. There is strong bipartisan support for USAID. I imagine they’ll kill the Ukraine funding and give it a 20% haircut. Could be RIFs.

We are all just waiting on these current politicals to leave. They haven’t been very good at anything other than padding their resumes. The Trump politicals were better, and I’m a Democrat.

Very tiny, but the ones on top. They aren’t very good at their jobs.

PBS News Hour just did a three-part expose on USAID projects that do not produce results, benefitting largely the DC-based development contracting firms (e.g. Chemonics) who are most familiar with contract vehicles and writing proposals. USAID declined to comment.

They are terrible. Self promoters and fakers. They are all policy think tank people; no substance. Not one of the ones I know has even lived in a developing country.
