Prince Harry to attend coronation without Meghan

And don't say it's because 'why would she go if everyone hates her there?' That negative stimulus hasn't ever stopped Meghan and can be argued that she thrives on it.

Harry has said that the Queen's handlers prevented him from seeing her and talking to her on the phone. He had to fly on a public airline to get there when she died because the Family wouldn't send a royal plane for him. You really need to stop acting the Royal family has been so kind towards him and Harry is the only problem in the relationship.

She'll be criticized either way. There's no win for her.

From a practical point of view, I bet BP is secretly relieved. For better or worse, she does steal the limelight.

I agree that regardless of what people think of her, she and the kids should absolutely be invited and attend.

I think there will be a reconciliation when Harry and Meghan divorce. It's coming. No one could tolerate being married to her for very long. She is estranged from nearly every member of her family save her mother.

She was an only child. Her father is trash. I would question if she WEREN'T estranged from those wack jobs.

This is not true. In her own words she told everyone that he was a "wonderful father" and how close they were. Now I could only find information that was not behind a paywall was the Daily.

I found this from the blog:
n a 2014 Father's Day post on her now-defunct blog, The Tig, Meghan wrote: "I think of so many moments with my dad. Our club sandwich & fruit smoothie tradition post my tap & ballet class - classes, which by the way, he religiously took me to on Saturday mornings after working 75+ hours a week as a lighting director.

So weird she couldn’t extend him any grace. Maybe once her kids are a little older she’ll reflect on everything he did for her.

Grace? Are you kidding? People change. Maybe he was a good father once, but he proved himself to be a scum bag since then.

Oh yes, in your world it is truly black and white...not grey here! Must be nice to always think you are right? Of course, Meghan's dad and gasp! Meghan and Harry are also human and both "goo" and "scum bag" tendencies. To err is human to FORGIVE is divine

+1 most sensible approach

But major eye roll at giving the kids the Prince / Princess titles in LA but then they don't even want to go to the most important royal event? Okay then.

Yes. They can bash the Royal Family and then give titles to their kids? WTH?

I think they played it well. You are going to trash me as the wife, you are damn straight I am giving my children royal titles just to piss you off.

"Harry will attend" - that's it. He will attend, not participate, not have any meaningful role, he will be a butt in a seat. No official role at all.

"Coronation service" - remember, Coronation will be a weekend with all kinds of festivities. Harry will attend only the official part of it. Nothing else is promised.

My prediction is that it will be like the Queen's last day at Balmoral. Harry flew in at 8 pm, ate dinner on his own or with someone unimportant, and flew out the next morning. He is on the outs, and the family is committed to conveying this message with everything they say. Frankly, not sure I blame them considering they feel that everything they say or do around Harry will be in the papers tomorrow.

And vice Versa with respect to the British papers.

She wasn't wanted there, fixed that for you. The invitation was just a a formality. Nobody in London wants to see her, nobody.

Funny how she was really well liked until the Family started their media campaign to smear her. Megan was significantly more popular than Kate and they made sure to remedy that.

The kids weren’t invited and Charles knew full well it was Archie’s bday when selecting the event date. They designed it so she wouldn’t attend. It’s fine, he makes quick appearance then heads straight home. Little to no drama.

No reason for her kids to be there. I'm sure she will have a big bash for Archie. A mini coronation making him "mommy's little king complete with crown."

People put crowns on their birthday boy/girl's head LITERALLY every single day. But it just galls you to think of Meghan doing something this utterly routine and normal.

NP and yeah, this is kind of annoying. And they refer to themselves as the Duke and Duchess in the states, too. Nobody GAF here, we don’t have royalty. They can’t have it both ways - they’re either in the royal family or out.

I believe the issue with that was that Harry wanted Meghan to join him on the royal plane and the family absolutely wouldn't have her there.

Writing posts without drinking is also divine. Try it sometime.

Harry isn't bright enough to find (or want) his way out of that marriage. He would see it as an crushing failure for his nuclear family to break up. No, it will be Meghan who has lined up her next several moves and finds a more valuable commodity than Harry. By demanding her children have royal titles, she is securing her royal adjacency without needing to pretend she finds him attractive and stimulating anymore.

Mark my words. She'll leave him and never the other way.

Are they just Meghan's kids or does harry have any ownership and say over them?

I thought William was the one who said the plane the royals were all on should take off before Harry got there rather than wait for him. But what do I know. Maybe he was afraid he'd miss seeing his grandmother before she died, too.

I assume they set some rules and protocols in place that she didn't agree with and they would not change. So she decided to stay with the kids in California. It is Archie's bday anyway.

I think this will allow everyone to breath a sigh of relief. The drama would have been off the charts if she was there.

You are 100% making up that she was demanding and difficult to fulfill that narrative. Maybe she just didn't want to go and miss her son's birthday. Add to that the kids weren't invited to the ceremony anyway. For all you know she said "have fun" and hsant thought a another thing about it.

He’s trash because he stupidly posed for a magazine? She loved him just fine before that. What about her maid of honor (gone), all aunts and uncles and cousins? She basically has her mother and that’s it. She’s clearly the problem.

Harry has said that the Queen's handlers prevented him from seeing her and talking to her on the phone.

Harry is being dishonest if that's his line. The Queen was the Head of State. She orders handlers around, not the other way. Harry simply couldn't distinguish between his beloved granny who loved her grandchild, and Queen Elizabeth the Monarch, who was devoted to the preservation of the monarchy at all costs. When the Queen decided Harry was being destructive to the monarchy, she made herself scarce. Do you really think the monarch needs permission to see someone she wants to see, or to speak on the phone to someone she wants to speak to?

You can see this clearly in his writings, even though he isn't self aware enough to recognize it. First the granny is this powerful intelligent figure who takes important decisions every day. But when it comes to Harry, she instantly becomes a quiet shriveled figure who doesn't say anything and appears to be shrinking into the corner while Charles and Williams run roughshod over him. Harry doesn't recognize that the Queen makes decisions and lets other people implement it. He simply couldn't fathom that granny wouldn't give him what he wants.
