Why? No matter your experience at Rachel carson you will be back in the private system soon enough. Lakelands Park is full of fights, assaults and property destroying hooligans. If you can do private, stay put.

Lol, I saw the title of this thread and was coming here to say the same.

If your kid is going to MS soon and you want your kid to be attacked badly enough to be taken to inova Fairfax then consider this school. If not look elsewhere.

Man did I call this one or what? The resident parrot said I was a private school recruiter and since then LPMS has had one student se t to the trauma unit, another threatened by a group that caused the police to monitor the school and Surrounding area(!!!) And is now currently on lockdown with another threat!
All that hard work to afford a house in the kentlands and pay those taxes and you can't even send your kid to the school literally inside Shangri la new urban neighborhoods!

There are a couple tells that leftists always use, "fine" and "ALL." Fine is particularly hilarious because it means "meh, ok."

Rachel Carson is meh, ok school.

Is lakeland park ms that bad? Are problems coming from students or principal or administration management? My kid is at RCES now.

The pp hadn't even been talking about Rachel Carson- they literally said You will end up back in private because LAKELANDS PARK is full of violence. Etc.

Yes it's bad. The reason for the violence is that it pulls from some very tough neighborhoods. The principal isn't terrible but there's only so much they can do given the policies the board of educated has put in place.

Can someone share their experience with screen time in the younger grades? What is the PTA like and how do you join?
