probably what YOUR child should do is walk around lashing themselves and saying "my grandparents were Nazi's! my grandparent's were Nazi's!" That's really the sum total of your heritage -- Nazis. Nothing will every change that and there is nothing before or after in your heritage. |
Oh please. That’s acting like America is the victim or something. You just need to sit this one out PP. deal with it. |
Some branches of my family have been here for over 275 years. You could narrow down a specific US state of origin and bring something specific to that area. For similar events, I make an apple cake that is the oldest family recipe that I have, from my twice great grandmother. Think peach pie, or Irish soda bread or homemade bread and call it Kansas Quick Bread. Or make a sheet cake and frost and decorate with the state your family wants to represent. Done. |

PP/USA and on second thought, make Toll House chocolate chip cookies or snickerdoodles or sugar cookies. It will be a hit.

| Second the above. We used to do that at my school, and I brought Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies every year. Invented in America. |
- except it’s supposed to be Multicultural Night, and not the freaking 4th of July! Why can’t you just accept this night as reserved for cultures, and realize as privileged white Americans you really need to sit this one out? |
I don’t think you understand what culture means. |
