Casual tennis shoes to wear w Maxi dresses.
I tried my dd air forces and they look like orthopedic shoes on me.
Id love GoldenGoose but $500 is too much!
Veja? Stan Smith? Tetorn?
Which Allbirds do you like?

Vejas are my preference. Or Stan Smiths.

The problem with Stan Smiths is that you have to keep them pristine or they don't look right. I love them but am not fastidious enough to keep white sneakers unscuffed at all times.

I like Vejas. Also if you don't want to look too brand-conscious, check out Cole Hahn Crosscourts. No one will know what they are but they will still look right on trend. I always recommend these for people who complain that their sneakers look "orthopedic" because they have a low, slim profile while being more substantial than Bensimons or Keds. It's a great versatile sneaker. And come in lots of colors.

Madewell makes nice ones.

People wear sneakers with maxi dresses now? (Serious question)

Unfortunately I think this is one of those things that when the young kids do it, it looks hip and cool, but when women of a certain age who are old enough to have young kids who look hip and cool do this, they look like they are wearing orthotics.

I say this as one of those “women of a certain age!”

Unless you’re Helen Mirren, in which case, you go.

That being said, I did get a pair of these, inspired by Helen Mirren, although I haven’t worn them with dresses (yet, everything is a muddy mess and I don’t want to muck up my new shoes!)

Sneakers + a maxi dress is a very young look. Honestly, while I like comfortable dresses, I am not a huge maxi fan. Not sure where you would wear this look. Managing a long dress seems like a tripping hazard.

I miss those cheap knock off "keds" from the late 80s/early 90s.

White, comfortable, machine washable.

I miss Keds when they were still well made and not cheap crap.

Any recommendations for Keds but better and more up to date?

I've worn this look to various warm weather activities (playground, farm brewery, apple picking, etc.). I'm tall with broad shoulders, so maxi dresses look great on me, and sometimes I want something sturdier than a sandal.

OP, I like Slip-on Vans or Onitsuka Tigers.

While they are not cheap, they are half the price of the GGs.
