| I'm preparing a breakfast for a small group of people and want to make sure I have some nice options for someone who is allergic to eggs and nuts. Any ideas? |

Fruit salad
Egg-free, nut-free muffins Cereal and milk Egg-free, nut-free toast with butter and jam |
| Granola and fresh greek yogurt drizzled with honey. Serve with fresh fruit, English muffins, bacon and/or sausage. |

... eggless pancakes
I've had this recipe, never tried it but I have always thought it looked good. And it has good ratings on Epicurious. (I'd consider making it for the whole group). Moby's Vegan Blueberry Pancakes http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Mobys-Vegan-Blueberry-Pancakes-241771 |
| bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, canadian bacon or ham, cheeses |
| breakfast potatoes |
Love these suggestions--simple, cheap, nutritious without screaming "I'm the weirdo with food limitations who inconvenienced our hostess with the oddball item on the buffet." I'm not allergic, but dislike eggs...and DH is allergic to nuts. We studiously avoid drawing attention to the limitations. We would be thrilled to have simple granola with any kind of yogurt/fruit, continental (bread with jam and/or cheese), and we would feel terrible and embarrassed if people felt like they had to go to a lot of special trouble for us. |

fruit cobbler. no eggs. no nuts.

| I have a hard time recommending granola - its usually contaminated with nuts. I wouldn't eat it if I had a nut allergy unless I could look at the bag and feel sure that it was safe. Which hardly keeps one from feeling like they are the weirdo with the allergy if you have to verify the main course is safe. |
| You can make your own granola. |

mom to an egg-allergic kid here.
no to store bought granola, even if the package says no nuts, there's too much of a chance of cross-contamination. our go-to breakfast options for company always include homemade scones (just butter, flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, & cream) with homemade jam or lemon curd. fruit salad, good bacon or ham, can all round out the rest of the breakfast. we also have done bagels, lox, cream cheese + fruit salad. for egg-free pancake mix, we use arrowhead mills multigrain mix. we add oil & buttermilk to the dry mix, and then whatever fruit - blueberries, bananas, apples - and serve with grade A maple syrup. |
| A selection of bread with toppings e.g. hummus, feta dip, cheese, deli / sausages / bacon. If you want to prepare hot breakfast, you could make breakfast potatoes like one of the pps mentioned, and also white beans in tomato sauce (english breakfast style), with sausages.... Otherwise, could make oatmeal or something along those lines. |

Here is a delicious potato recipe. It is for potato salad, but I've left out the dressing and served the roasted potatoes for breakfast.
