This morning I moved to get up and my lower back actually creaked like a squeaky old door. It didn’t hurt, but it felt like something was going on, I felt something I can’t quite described.
This cannot be good and I am kind of freaked out. What could it be, and what doctor would I see? I do have a history of arthritis, rheumatoid, but it has only affected my hands to date. |

Mine has been doing this for years!
I even went to a chiropractor who did a few things and said I was fine otherwise. Tried PT also. She gave me some exercises. My lower back still creaks. I chalk it up to age. |
| See an actual doctor. |
Which one? Rheumatologist? Orthopedist? I don't know who to see. |

OP I was hearing creaking and snapping sounds without pain.
Went to the regular doctor who explained that this is the sound of tendons kind of brushing up against other things. You get a kind of snapping rubber band sound effect. Ive had this for years. Im now 53. This began about ....3 years ago? Comes and goes. No pain is the critical piece of information. That being said, you can go to your PCP for a looksy at. |
