Financial aid question when applying at privates

Do private SN schools look poorly upon you if you say that you will be applying for financial aid in the application form? Are we lowering our chances by saying we need financial aid?

I don't think so. We applied last year and received FA. I was nervous that it might affect our app, but it didn't seem to.
