Our daughter and her boyfriend graduate in May. Before they go off to separate colleges in August they want to travel for 2 weeks. They had wanted to go to Italy. I am hesitant due to war. I am looking for other recommendations for them to go. They are 18 and so they would be unable to rent a car. Some sort of mass transit would be good. They are native French and Italian speakers if that helps. I hesitate to let them go wild they are nieve and spoiled. Thanks.
How much money are you giving them for this? I don’t think the war will be a big deal in Italy except for increased costs. But what about London or Paris where they could take metro around and then do some day trips via train or tour bus. I wouldn’t send them to Greece or anyplace that’s a known party spot. With shows and museums and shopping in places like London and Paris they can probably keep themselves busy without the party scene. But where do they want to go?
Ocean City, MD
They want to go to Italy. His father gave them a bit to visit.
You said they're naive and spoiled. You also sound naive and spoiled. Wow.
Why are you worried about war in a NATO member nation?
I’d feel more comfortable with Italy than Ocean City for recent grads.
Seriously? Italy is great. Tell them it’s their choice and to go have fun.
