All Saints Preschool Emergency Suspension

Anonymous
All Saints Preschool in Chevy Chase MD was issued an immediate emergency suspension by the MD Office of Child Care. Lots of violations, some minor like not having a thermometer in fridges/freezers. Quite a few are related to staff not completing required training, as well as some staff not having a record of background check. Even a violation regarding not having a qualified teacher for one room. Doesn't seem related to any gross misconduct/neglect/etc, but still...yikes.

Can any parents with children at All Saints speak to this violation? We are applying and I just read through the violations. Some of these are pretty concerning such as not storing cleaning supplies properly, not updating emergency contacts, and staff trainings.

I'd love to hear from any current or former parents about their experience at All Saints. Thanks!

Isn’t it enough to hear they are being shut down by the state for a month for multiple violations? You still want your kid there? Please!!!

I’d bet money they are super strict about compliance next year!

I’m surprised a lot of places aren’t having these issues. The public schools would probably be shut down if they were held to any staffing requirements—they are doubling up rooms, taking basically whoever as subs (although I do think they are getting the background checks done). No one wants these jobs and the illnesses going around are really creating challenges.

I hate to agree with this but it's so true. Lots of licensing grace is being given right now, at least at my center in DC.

This is an old thread from April. All of their issues seem to have been corrected. I read through the report and some issues are very minor and some issues are extremely problematic but overall it seems like they were very disorganized and didn’t really know how to run a preschool or what all of that entailed. A lot of forms were filled out, or documented. Licensing is most likely keeping a very close eye on them to ensure that all of these noncompliances were corrected.
