is a cult favorite? Pregnant with #3 and we got rid of all of our baby stuff from prior kids so starting basically from scratch again. With our twins, we had one of those cheaper Fisher Price bouncers. Just one of those where you strap them in, there are some things dangling on top, and it had features that played music or made the whole chair vibrate. I've noticed all of my friends have gotten Baby Bjorn bouncers and I am wondering what makes it so good over other bouncers?
It’s minimalistic. Baby does not need to be strapped in, very easy to move around the house.
Folds flat for easy travel too.
My baby smiled the most in this bouncer. No idea why - but it was worth the money to see those grins!
I have wondered this as well. I mean it’s not like it’s difficult to move a fisher price bouncer around the house either… they weigh next to nothing.
Never used the Baby Bjorn bouncer but my baby and I liked the $25 Fisher Price bouncer juuuust fine. I'm glad I didn't spend $200 on Baby Bjorn.
We had both the fisher price with the lion and the baby Bjorn. The BB is sleeker and aesthetically pleasing but the FP was my favorite. I have big babies and the BB leaned way back when they were 18+ lbs at 5 months. The FP kept them more upright which they liked. We got the BB second hand and sold it for about what we got it so that’s a perk.
Honestly not sure but I didn’t have it on my registry and I literally had 4 friends text me telling me I “NEED” to add it to my registry, so I did. Literally it was the second thing bought. Baby will be here in June so we will see what the hype is about.

we didn't have one for my first and didn't feel like we missed out, but got a hand-me-down for our second and she is obsessed with it from day one through still 10 months later. I don't get it, but glad we have it!
FWIW we're probably the fourth kid to use this exact one, and it's in great shape, see if you can get one used! |
We didn’t use one with our first, got one from a friend for our second and holy moly our baby is obsessed with it. It’s so so so helpful to have when making meals, playing with our older kiddo, etc - he can stay in the bouncer for easily an hour and be so happy. I don’t know what it is, but it’s magic for us.
We had baby Bjorn and fisher price. All 3 of my kids much preferred the fisher price one. We barely used the Bjorn one. Not worth the price in my opinion.

Just got it for baby 3. I bought into the hype and wanted something new for my last baby. She didn’t like it at all. I mean she didn’t hate it but she clearly preferred her fisher price sit me up chair.
Also I’m pissed that the toy bar was $45 or $50. That’s insane and no, she didn’t like that either. She wanted to sit more upright |
Also, our favorite part of the sit me up chair is that it sat on our table while we ate dinner or cooked. It didn’t take up much room at all
I bought one used on FB marketplace and sold it for something close to what I bought it for. One advantage over other bouncers, aside from portability, is that it is incredibly easy to wash.
We bought ours secondhand and sold again when done. My kids loved it but the appeal for me was that it folded flat. We have a small apartment and I loved being able to stash it under the couch when not in use.
